Study Buddies Ministry

So...WHAT ARE YOUR TUESDAYS LOOKING LIKE THIS FALL????

I know this is a TALL ORDER, but TRUST ME 😆, you might just need this in your life!

STUDY BUDDIES runs from October 8th- November 19th, it's just 6 Tuesday nights from 5:30-7:00pm.  And Study Buddies is a whole lot more than just helping a little kid do his/her homework...YOU ARE a whole other person in their life that cares for them! That is HUGE to a kid these days! You are someone to talk to face to face, you are someone that smiles at them, you sit beside them, doing their homework, explaining stuff they don't understand, you might play games with them, read with them...This is BIG STUFF to a little kid, there aren't even any phones or tech involved here, for a solid hour, (unless you are playing a game or researching something TOGETHER), because Study Buddies has always been about one-on-one attention! And you know, we've been doing this program for 30 years! We've given A LOT of attention over the years!

This year, Hillside has changed to a K-4 school, so we are going to be seeing some younger kids at SB, probably A LOT of new 1st and 2nd graders, and I want to see some new Adult Buddies too, joining the ranks!

Ask anyone who has helped before, you will ENJOY THIS, you feel like you're a part of a good thing, you are not alone, if you have any "homework" questions, people are there! Hillside Teacher, Mrs. Halley, and myself ,circulate and can bring you materials or offer suggestions of games or activities to do with your buddy.

I know what you're thinking....this could be fun, but I have to get my clearances done.  YES, YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR CLEARANCES DONE.  I need to assure Hillside parents that the people sitting with their child are "cleared", and approved to work with children.  It's just what it is! BUT PLEASE don't let that stop you! It takes a half hour at the computer, and Pastor Charlie or I can help you!

I will end my plea with the #1 BEST THING about Study Buddies...DINNER!  SB has had a 30 year reputation for having the best food ever, and the tradition continues.  Chef Casey and our kitchen crew will make you and your buddy a delicious and nutritious dinner that you will enjoy side by side, socializing with the group, and when you go home at 7:00, you will have absolutely no dishes to wash!
